Microdermabrasion Skin Resurfacing:

Instant Skin Results and Benefits

Skin Resurfacing:
Skin exfoliation improves the quality and tone of the skin. Due to environmental factors, old surface cells become dehydrated resulting in thickened skin. The skin’s surface then becomes congested, affecting the skin’s ability to breathe and receive moisture. Professional exfoliation assists in removal of the superficial dead skin to reveal newer, healthier cells below, stimulating collagen and elastin, enhancing the performance of corrective and moisturising products. This process is called skin resurfacing, leading to skin rejuvenation.

Microdermabrasion Skin Resurfacing:
Microdermabrasion technology is the most sophisticated and advanced system to regenerate and revitalise the skin. It provides a simple approach to a healthy, youthful skin for both men and women of all ages. This simple, quick and convenient procedure has become very popular with people showing the early signs of ageing, sun exposure and other facial imperfections.

Here is how others enjoy The Renajo Experience of a result driven Microdermabrasion Treatment:
“I first tried microdermabrasion treatment in 2006 and have been extremely satisfied with the result time after time. It is amazing that such a simple and quick procedure can deliver instant results. I have been getting this treatment regularly and each time I get an instant lift to the appearance and health of my skin. The face feels so smooth and develops an instant glow straight after the treatment.” - Karen U, Hawthorn, Melbourne

In all skin conditions, Novita Microdermabrasion technology works to bring it to a healthy state in a gentle, non -invasive manner offering a gentle polishing, while delivering great results and micro massage, enhancing lymphatic flow and blood circulation. This allows you to treat the skin more frequently and increase the benefits of stimulating the dermis (the deeper layer of the skin), promoting the production of collagen, elastin, fibroblasts and fresh skin cells. 1. What is microdermabrasion?
A safe and non-surgical procedure of intense exfoliation and resurfacing that rejuvenates the skin with no downtime. A medical grade machine with  diamond-tipped heads &/or fine alum-oxide crystals are used, to gently abrade the dead surface cells of the skin. Vaccuum suction within the machine, assists with the removal of these dead cells, whilst stimulating better lymphatic flow and collagen synthesis. A special treatment mask is then applied to further assist with de-congestion of the pores. This is followed by a corrrective serum and an antioxidant boost that enhances the potency of the treatment and accelerating the healing process. This whole process stimulates the dermis (which is the deeper layer of the skin), promoting the production of collagen, elastin, fibroblasts and fresh skin cells. This instantly results in a radiant, healthier, fresher, firmer and more youthful looking skin with enhanced elasticity and texture.

“By removing the outer layer of the skin cells and stimulating the production of fresh cells in the upper layer of skin, micordermabrasion can keep the skin looking more youthful” (Quote form De Paul Spano, a Melbourne Laser Cosmetic Physician)

2. What Does Microdermabrasion Treat?
Microdermabrasion is suitable for males and females of all ages, as well as for women who are pregnant or breast-feeding. A professional skin consultation is always completed priori to any treatment to enable the skin therapist to assess whether the client is eligible for a microdermabrasion teatment. Skin conditions that may benefit from a course of microdermabrasion treatments include:

•Tired, dull and dry skin
•Skin discolouration and pigmentation
•Unclear complexions with blackheads
•Congested skin with open pores
•Skin blemishes from ingrown hairs and 'picking'
•Pitted, post acne scarred skin - Enlarged pores
•Stretch marks
•Some new chicken pox scars
•Sun-damaged skin
•Superficial fine lines and wrinkles
•Ageing hands and body skin

3. What are the benefits of Microdermabrasion?
•Skin that has a fresh radiant glow
•Softer, smoother, more even-textured skin
•Refined open pores and congested skins
•Improved blemishes and more rapid healing
•Scar blending and scar improvement
•Lightened sun damage
•More youthful, vibrant looking skin
•Fine lines become diminished
•Wrinkles can become firmer

4. How quickly will I see results?
From the first treatment you will a smoother skin texture with less prominence of finer lines and wrinkles. The immediate skin result is smoother, clearer, softer, refined, healthier looking skin. The results will last a few weeks, until your skin naturally develops a new stratum corneum.  The vacuum suction brings blood to the surface of the skin thus creating a greater level of oxygenated blood in the dermis, this in turn increases intercellular activity, ‘kick starting’ a greater level of production of collagen, elastin and fibroblast – skin rejuvenation. With consecutive treatments as well as the use of professional homecare, this result will continue to  improve.

5. How will my skin look after the treatment?
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive, painless treatment. Although there is no recovery time some skins may experience a mild sunburn / wind burn sensation the evening of your procedure - which will usually disappear by the next morning. Your skin will dry and you may experience some slight peeling a couple of days after your procedure leaving your skin with a smoother, fresher complexion. This is the purpose of the procedure and the strength of the treatment can be tailored to suit your needs. With additional treatments your skin will continue to improve and depending on your skin concerns and results desired, a good quality moisturiser with antioxidants, effective cosmeceutical products and a good broad spectrum sunscreen 30+ is advised everyday.

We use and recommend mineral makeup, which can be applied immediately following the treatment, and will help conceal and heal the skin without blocking pores or affecting the treatment results.

6. How many treatment do I need?
Your skin should look and feel clean and smooth directly following the treatment. With each successive treatment you skin will become more even-toned and textured. Once the dull dead skin has been removed you will notice an overall improvement. This usually is quite noticeable after the third treatment. Initially treatments are usually performed every 10-14 days with an average of six sessions required. Maintaining results requires a top-up treatment every 4 - 6 weeks in most people.

7. How skilled is microdermabrasion?
The skill of the operator and the quality of the equipment are the major factors in ensuring the results are achieved in a safe manner. For this reason our professionally trained skin therapists only use a paramedical machine for the desired results.

8. How much discomfort will I experience?
A Microdermabrasion treatment is painless yet very effective. The degree of effectiveness is controlled by a widely adjustable vacuum. Your trained skin therapist will evaluate your skin to determine the strength of treatment to achieve the best result, while at the same time ensure your comfort.

9. What about Hygiene?
Hygiene standards and your safety are of paramount importance. All items coming into contact with the skin during a treatment are either disposable or sterilizable. All aspects of client, technician and machine are fully covered in our training. You can rest assured that your skin therapist will only implement the ultimate in hygiene standards.

10. What after treatment care is required?
Ensure the area is kept clean and lightly moisturised
Protect you fresh , new delicate skin from the sun with a SPF30+
If possible, avoid wearing liquid makeup for 24 hrs
Never undertake any treatment on the skin unless advised your technician
Do not use sun beds or ovre expose treated areas to the sun during the treatment programme
If the treated areas is other than the face or neck, wear loose clothing allowing the air to circulate.
Avoid products containing AHA's or BHA's for the first 24 hours after the treatment
Four days after the treatment, exfoliate your skin with an exfoliant

11. Can microdermabrasion treatment be combined with other treatments?
Microdermabrasion gives brilliant results when it is combined with treatments such as IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) skin rejuvenation and professional peels, oxygen treatments, skin needling treatments, cosmeceutical facials and ENAR lymphatic drainage treatments.
