Dermapen Skin Needling
Pre-Care
As Dermapen Skin Needling utilises non-thermolytic (without heat) technology and does not destroy the skin?s integrity, it can be performed on almost every skin type, condition and colour. To achieve the best results, skins of all complexion must be prepared with Vitamins A, B and C, and repair serum in conjunction with sunscreen use daily for 2 weeks prior to a Dermapen treatment. Note: This treatment cannot be performed on skin that has recently been sunburnt, damaged or experiencing aggressive cystic acne.
- For 48 hours before treatment, do not use Retin-A (or retinoids or similar vitamin A compounds) or other harsh/exfoliating scrubs, AHA/BHA products and bleaching creams.
- For at least 1 week before treatment, avoid any waxing, IPL, Peels and/or Fractional Laser treatments.
- For 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after the treatment, avoid tanning and sun exposure to avoid adverse reaction as well as increase in pigmentation.
- For 2 weeks before treatment, avoid using tanning creams.
- Prep your skin with the recommended home care to achieve optimal results.
- In case of active or extreme breakouts please call us to reschedule, as Dermapen cannot be performed over active acne lesions.
- For a history of cold sores/fever blisters, please ask your doctor about an antiviral prescriptive medicine to prevent an outbreak after your treatment.
- For at least 2 week prior to treatment and 2 week after the treatment, avoid?injectable-like dermal fillers and botox.
Post-Care
- After the treatment your skin will appear red, tight and warm like a sunburn sensation. These symptoms should resolve within 24 – 48 hours.
- Use a recommended serums to provide rapid calm and comfort while relieving any tightness or flaking.
- After 5 days, resume all your recommended skin corrective skincare routine.
- For 7 days post-treatment, avoid any scrubs and products containing Vitamin A, Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), benzoyl peroxide, or alcohol.
- For a minimum of 48 hours post-treatment, avoid excessive or high-cardio workouts and any activities that may cause heat or sweat, including steam, spas and saunas.
- Protect your skin with daily application of sunscreen.
- Avoid smoking as it inhibits collagen and elastin production which contributes to ageing.
- Do NOT undergo any skin peel, Radio Frequency or laser procedures for 2 weeks post-treatment.
- Use your prescribed homecare products together with a healthy diet which will enhance the results of the treatment.
- Avoid shaving for at least 48 hours post-treatment.
- Avoid swimming in chlorinated water 48 hours after your treatment.
- Use mineral make-up to easily conceal any redness or petechiae (blood blisters) during recovery which subside within 3 days.
Dual Radio Frequency Skin Tightening
Pre-Care
- For 2 weeks prior to the procedure, do NOT undergo any skin peel or laser procedures.
- For history of cold sores/fever blisters, please ask your doctor about an antiviral prescriptive medicine to prevent an outbreak after your treatment.
- Ensure you are well hydrated prior to your treatment by drinking 3 ? 4 glasses of water as this will result in a more comfortable and effective treatment.
- NOT recommended for anyone with a pacemaker, internal defibrillator of any active implanted device, uncontrolled diabetes, cancer in the treatment area or during pregnancy.
Post-Care
- Keep yourself well hydrated after the treatment as this will help with removal of toxins and may produce a better result.
- For 7 days post-treatment, avoid using products with AHA/BHA, scrubs and vigorously rubbing the skin.
- Avoid sun bathing and tanning beds that contribute to accelerated ageing
- Use a broad spectrum sunscreen.
- Return to your normal skincare routine the next day.
- Avoid smoking as it inhibits collagen and elastin production, which contributes to ageing.
- For 2 ? 3 weeks post-treatment, avoid use of depilatory creams, waxing, laser treatments, microdermabrasion, microcurrent treatments or chemical peels.
- Your skin may appear flushed immediately after the treatment which will subside within an hour or so.
- If you were instructed to take an antiviral medication, DO complete the prescribed course.
- DO schedule your next 3 or 6 treatments with intervals of 1-2 weeks to maximise results.
IPL Photo Rejuvenation
Pre-Care
- Hydrate the body by drinking plenty of water.
- Avoid swimming in strong chlorinated water immediately prior to treatment.
- Prep your skin with the recommended homecare products.
- For at least 4 ? 6 weeks before or between IPL treatments, avoid exposing the skin to the sun or tanning beds.
- Don’t wax or tweeze immediately before treatment.
- For 2 ? 3 weeks prior to treatment, avoid using instant tanning products.
- For 24 ? 48 hours before treatment, avoid using bleaching creams or perfumed products.
Note:
- A doctor?s letter may be required to confirm that there is no evidence of skin cancer.
- Results will vary from client to client and may need several treatments to obtain the desired outcome though one treatment will deliver an improvement.
- You must use appropriate sun protection before and after treatment.
- There will be skins that are too dark to treat, and this will be assessed by your technician.
- Cooling packs can help to relieve any discomfort during the first day after treatment.
Post-Care
- Protect your skin with daily application of SPF30+ sunscreen.
- Use a repair or calming serum to provide rapid calm and comfort for redness, inflammation or swelling which in some cases can last up to 3 ? 5 days.
- Use (if required) ice packs to relieve any discomfort post-treatment.
- Use the recommended homecare products in the correct manner prescribed by your therapist.
- Apply twice daily a non-comedogenic hydrating moisturiser rich in antioxidants to relieve any tightness or flaking.
- Use mineral make-up to easily conceal any redness or petechiae (blood blisters) during recovery.
- Wear cotton gloves while driving after hands are treated.
- Be aware that pigmented lesions will become darker before they become lighter, and Vasculars can appear to be darker before they disappear.
- For 4 ? 6 weeks post-treatment and in between treatments, avoid exposing your skin to the sun.
- For 7 days post-treatment, don’t use products, scrubs or active ingredients which contain Vitamin A, AHA and BHA.
- For 7 days post-treatment, avoid using lotions and moisturisers that contain perfumes and/or colours.
- For a minimum of 48 hours post-treatment, avoid high-cardio workouts and any activities that may cause heat or sweat, including steam, spas and saunas.
- Avoid smoking as it inhibits collagen and elastin production, which contributes to ageing.
- Don’t pick at skin in case it develops a crust or scab, as this may lead to scarring. Areas like these will eventually fall off revealing new healthy skin underneath.
- Normal activities including work may be resumed immediately with no downtime required. We highly recommend you use the prescribed homecare products which will enhance the results of the treatment, together with a healthy diet.
LED Light Therapy
Pre-Care
- It is a totally safe, natural and painless treatment that delivers amazing skin healing and re-building benefits.
- Avoid smoking as it inhibits collagen and elastin production, which contributes to ageing.
- Avoid sun bathing and use a broad spectrum sunscreen.
- It is not recommended for skins? prone to photo-sensitivity or photo-sensitising medication.
- Note:?LED Light Therapy is not recommended for anyone suffering from epilepsy, porphyria, during pregnancy or for those on cortisone.
Post-Care
- Avoid Smoking as it inhibits collagen and elastin production, which contributes to ageing
- Avoid sun bathing and tanning beds that contribute to accelerated ageing.
- Use a broad spectrum sunscreen.
Low Level Laser Therapy
- There are no special care requirements to worry about pre and post-treatment. Low Level Laser Therapy is a safe, natural, painless and non-invasive treatment that does not compromise the integrity of the skin. Being non-thermal it does not heat or hurt the skin, and does not damage the tissue or cause other complications.
- The most important consideration is to avoid pointing the laser at the eye, for which reason, we ensure that during treatment both the client?s and the operator?s eyes are protected with specialist safety glasses.
- Note: We do not perform laser therapy on those people/areas which?have?not yet been completely scientifically-proven to be safe. This includes:
- Thyroid areas;
- The foetus area on pregnant women;
- The head of infants;
- Over suspected tumours/cancers; and
- People using photo-sensitive or immuno-suppressant drugs.
MicroCurrent
Pre-Care
- Ensure you are well hydrated prior to your treatment by drinking 3 ? 4 glasses of water as this will result in a more comfortable and effective treatment.
- As a precaution MicroCurrent is not recommended for:
- Pregnant women.
- People with heart pacemakers or any electrical device.
- People suffering from epilepsy.
- People suffering from thrombosis and phlebitis.
- People suffering from cancer or tumours.
- Metal plates or implants in skull (in dental implants it generally based by the individuals sensitivity level).
Post-Care
- Keep yourself well hydrated as this will help with removal of toxins and may produce better results.
- Avoid smoking as it inhibits collagen and elastin production, which contributes to ageing.
- Avoid sun bathing and tanning beds that contribute to accelerated ageing.
- Use a broad spectrum sunscreen.
- Have a maintenance treatments every 4 – 6 – 8 weeks (depending on age/condition of skin/muscle) to maximise results.
Microdermabrasion
Pre-Care
- If you have had any botox or injectable fillers, you must wait for 2 weeks before having a Microdermabrasion treatment.
- For 2?? 3 weeks prior to a Microdermabrasion treatment, you must not have had any aggressive laser or chemical peel treatments.
- Note: Microdermabrasion is not recommended for:
- Active cold sores.
- Open lesions / Infection / Blood infections.
- Uncontrolled diabetes / Lupus / Auto immune disorders.
- Retin A (Vitamin A) ? stop use at least 2 weeks prior.
- Roaccutane ? can only have 12 months after course completion.
- Pregnancy / Breast feeding.
- Skin cancer in the treatment area / Undergoing chemotherapy / Immune therapy treatment.
Post-Care
- Wait 24 hours before returning to your normal skincare routine.
- Protect your skin with daily application of sunscreen SPF30+ and wear a hat when in the sun.
- Wait four days post-treatment before using a scrub to exfoliate skin.
- Use mineral make-up instead of liquid or cream foundations.
- Avoid sun bathing, solariums and tanning products.
- For 24 hours post-treatment, avoid any scrubs and products containing Vitamin A, Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), benzoyl peroxide or alcohol.
- Don’t pick or scratch if you experience any grazing or flaking of skin, as this is superficial and picking can lead to pigmentation.
- Avoid smoking as it inhibits collagen and elastin production, which contributes to ageing.
Peels
Pre-Care
- Depending on the peel intensity and your skin concern, in order to properly prep your skin you may be required to use recommended skin actives at least 1 ? 2 weeks prior to treatment.
- For 48 hours prior to treatment, do not use retinoids or similar vitamin A compounds or other harsh/exfoliating scrubs, AHA/BHA products and bleaching creams.
- If on prescriptive Retin A (Vitamin A) ? stop use at least 2 weeks prior.
- Avoid any IPL, Peels and Fractional Laser treatments for at least 1 week and in some cases 3 weeks prior to treatment.
- Prep your skin with the recommended homecare to achieve optimal results.
- Sun-baking and sun beds must be avoided for the entire duration of the treatment program.
- Roaccutane ? can only have 12 months after course completion.
- Avoid sun bathing and tanning beds as they contribute to accelerated ageing.
- Use a broad spectrum sunscreen and sun protection like a hat.
Note:?Peels are NOT recommended for the following conditions:
- Active cold sores.
- Open lesions / Infection / Blood infections.
- Uncontrolled diabetes / Lupus / Auto immune disorders.
- Pregnancy / Breast feeding.
- Skin cancer in the treatment area / Undergoing chemotherapy / Immune therapy treatment.
Post-Care
- Return to your normal skincare routine – it is critical you follow all of your skin clinician?s post-care instructions to help prevent side effects and complications from occurring.
- Your skin may peel or flake depending on the peel, it?s strength and your skin?s condition, which can last anywhere between a couple of days to a week.
- Mineral make-up can be applied immediately after the treatment as it is healing to the skin and it also provides an SPF protection factor.
- As UV light can damage your new skin, it is imperative you use appropriate broad spectrum of at least SPF 30+ sun protection.
- Avoid smoking as it inhibits collagen and elastin production, which contributes to ageing.
- For 2 ? 3 weeks post-treatment, avoid use of depilatory creams, waxing, laser treatments, microdermabrasion or chemical peels.
- Enzyme Peels?require no recovery time, making it a perfect ?lunch-time? treatment for the busy person as it allows you to get straight back into your normal routine. It can also be combined with other treatments to achieve accelerated and more dramatic results.
- Metabolic Peels?require a recovery time anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days, depending on individual skin condition.
Trans Dermal Nutrient Infusions
Pre-Care
- Hydrate the body by drinking plenty of water.
- Avoid swimming in strong chlorinated water immediately prior to treatment.
- Prep your skin with the recommended homecare products.
- Three days prior to treatment, avoid using exfoliants, scrubs, AHA/BHA, Vitamin A products, bleaching creams or any other irritant.
- Use sunscreen daily.
- Be aware that Roaccuatane users have to wait for 6 months after stopping Roaccutane.
- Avoid waxing or tweezing immediately before treatment.
- Don’t use instant tanning products for 2 ? 3 weeks prior to treatment.
- Avoid make up, bleaching creams or perfumed products 24 hours before treatment.
Post-Care
- Use only mineral make-up, and protect your skin with daily application of SPF 30+ sunscreen.
- Apply twice daily a non-comedogenic hydrating moisturizer rich in antioxidants, and a calming serum to relieve any tightness or dryness.
- Avoid products, scrubs or active ingredients which contain Vitamin A, AHA and BHA for 48 hours post-treatment.
- Don’t use lotions and moisturisers that contain perfumes and/or colours for 24 hours post-treatment.
- Avoid activities that may cause heat or sweat, including steam, spas and saunas for a minimum of 24 hours post-treatment.
- Avoid smoking as it inhibits collagen production.
- Don’t pick at skin in case it dries out, as this may lead to scarring and pigmentation.
- Use?the recommended homecare products in the correct manner prescribed by your therapist, was this will enhance the results of the treatment together with a healthy diet.
